8 Juices for Men's Health

This men’s health blog addresses concerns that affect men only, impact men more than women, or are of greater interest to men. Find juice recipes that boost testosterone, libido, hair growth, and more.

As we said in our “8 Juices for Women’s Health” blog, drinking juice alone doesn’t eliminate women’s health issues. Neither does juice eliminate men’s health issues.

Often, men’s health focuses on the overall picture. It calls on men to follow a healthy diet, stay active, get enough sleep, and more.

While juice isn’t a cure-all for men’s health issues, drinking juice contributes to a healthier diet and lifestyle. The nutrients in juice have many health benefits.

Juice can alleviate men’s symptoms or even prevent or slow the development of certain men’s health conditions.

With this in mind, we gathered 8 juice recipes for men from our Kuvings ambassadors, targeting the following:

  1. Low Testosterone
  2. Erectile Dysfunction
  3. Low Libido
  4. Heart Health
  5. Hair Thinning & Hair Loss
  6. Pre-Workout
  7. Post-Workout
  8. Bonus: The King's Elixir

Our discussions, as well as the discussions of our ambassadors, provide general insights. For personalized medical guidance, consult a healthcare professional.

1. Low Testosterone

Men’s testes produce the hormone testosterone. Testosterone levels affect many different parts of men’s health, from appearance to functions to mood.

Because testosterone levels decline as men age, middle-aged and older men may need more hormone regulation and management.

Low testosterone can lead to the following symptoms:

  • Reduced muscle mass
  • Increase in body fat
  • Depressed mood
  • Erectile dysfunction
  • Low sex drive
  • Osteoporosis (weak bones)
  • Difficulty with concentration and memory

As a man in his upper fifties, @haroldleffall helps other men by creating men's health juice recipes. Harold’s juice recipe focuses on boosting testosterone and reducing low-testosterone symptoms.

Testosterone-Boosting Juice Recipe

  • 1 pineapple
  • 3 golden beets
  • 1 pomegranate

Pineapple and beets contain enzymes and minerals that help with testosterone production. In pineapple, it’s an enzyme called bromelain; in beets, it’s a mineral called boron.

A 2012 study published in Endocrine Abstracts also shows that pomegranate juice increases testosterone levels.

2. Erectile Dysfunction

Erectile dysfunction (ED) is when a man can't get or maintain an erection long enough to have sexual intercourse.

Many men feel self-conscious about admitting that they experience erectile dysfunction. However, ED is normal when aging and facing other men’s health issues. Erectile dysfunction is the most common condition men report to their doctors.

Doctors may prescribe medications to help with ED, like Viagra. However, we've observed that there is a high interest in juice recipes for erectile dysfunction. This signals to us that many men are looking for or prefer natural remedies for ED.

In addition to recipes for boosting testosterone, Harold also shares recipes for erectile dysfunction. If you’re actively seeking a natural erectile dysfunction juice recipe@haroldleffall has one for you!

Erectile Dysfunction Juice Recipe

  • 1 cup of pomegranate seeds
  • 1 head of celery
  • 1 beet
  • 1 pineapple
  • 2-4 inches of burdock root

As mentioned in the testosterone-boosting juice recipe, pineapple helps boost testosterone production. Normal levels of testosterone can help prevent erectile dysfunction.

Another key to combating erectile dysfunction is ensuring high blood flow. Nitric oxide relaxes your blood vessels, widening them and allowing blood to flow more easily. Celery and beets are high in nitrates, which convert to nitric oxide. Pomegranates have antioxidants that help protect nitric oxide.

Burdock root is a blood purifier because it removes toxins from the bloodstream, supporting the circulation of purified blood.

3. Low Libido

Libido is one's sex drive, and low libido is when one experiences a drop in sexual desire. Low libido can be a concern for men, specifically older men, because libido also decreases as men age.

For men seeking a natural libido-boosting remedy, here is a simple recipe to boost libido by @juicingtutorials.

Libido-Boosting Juice Recipe

  • ¼ of a watermelon
  • 1 inch of ginger
  • 1 key lime
  • 1 beet

Watermelon is the star ingredient in this libido-boosting juice because it's a natural source of citrulline. Citrulline stimulates nitric oxide production, which boosts blood flow to the sex organs. Citrulline is most concentrated in juice form, so men can benefit from drinking watermelon juice rather than eating watermelon.

As mentioned earlier, beets naturally contain nitrates that convert into nitric oxide. Ginger and lime can help boost blood flow thanks to their compounds, vitamins, and antioxidants.

4. Heart Health

Heart disease is the leading cause of death in the U.S. and worldwide. Men develop heart disease earlier and at a higher rate than women. Therefore, men should take care of their heart health as early as possible.

Good heart health requires maintaining a healthy mind and lifestyle, which you can do through the following:

  • Drink less or no alcohol
  • Don't smoke
  • Regular exercise
  • Stress management
  • Eating a healthier diet
  • Getting enough sleep

If a full lifestyle change is necessary, it’s easier to start with something simple like a daily 2-oz juice shot. @aisecoldfitness made this juice shot recipe to support men’s cardiovascular health, strength, and metabolism

Heart Health Juice Shot Recipe

  • 2 cups of pineapple
  • 1 lemon
  • 3 inches of ginger
  • ½ tsp cayenne
  • 1 pinch of black pepper
  • 1 pinch of sea salt
  • ¼ tsp turmeric powder

High inflammation has links to heart disease. Therefore, consuming anti-inflammatory ingredients like pineapple, lemon, ginger, and turmeric can be beneficial.

Cayenne pepper also helps lower cholesterol, which lowers the risk of heart disease. Sea salt provides minerals that increase strength, and black pepper is necessary to activate the turmeric.

5. Hair Thinning & Hair Loss

Hair loss is also more common in men, and a common insecurity men face. Hair loss in men is mainly genetic, with DHT, a potent male hormone derived from testosterone, also playing a role. Lifestyle factors can also contribute to hair loss.

While men can’t fully prevent hair loss, they can try to boost their testosterone levels, reduce their stress, and drink juices with ingredients that promote hair growth.

Watch this informative video by @brandonahmaud on the topic of juicing and hair thinning. He addresses the role lifestyle plays in hair loss and provides a juice recipe for hair growth!

Hair Growth Juice Recipe

  • 1 bunch of dandelion greens
  • 1 English cucumber
  • 2 pears
  • 1 thumb of ginger
  • 1 fennel
  • 2 key limes

Dandelion greens are packed with iron, zinc, and magnesium, the top 3 minerals for hair growth. Cucumber contains the mineral silica, which helps strengthen hair strands and improve elasticity.

Brandon’s recipe also features ingredients that aid digestion and boost blood flow. Better nutrient absorption, combined with good blood flow, brings more nutrients to your scalp and hair.

6. Pre-Workout

Pre-workout is a supplement you can take before a workout or physical activity. Pre-workout boosts energy, maintains focus, improves strength, and delays muscle fatigue. Men who go to the gym or do intense workouts can benefit from taking a pre-workout.

Pre-workout usually comes in powder or formula form. Instead of a powder, @jefeharris’s juice recipe relies on the natural benefits of raw fruits and vegetables.

Pre-Workout Juice Recipe

  • 1 pineapple
  • 1 bunch of spinach
  • 3 beets
  • 4 apples
  • 1 ginger

Beets are a common ingredient in all these men's health recipes because of their positive impact on blood flow. Blood flow is especially important during workouts because your muscles need oxygen from the blood. Spinach is another ingredient that has high levels of nitrates, which help with blood flow.

The remaining ingredients can give you an energy boost. Fruits like pineapple and apple contain natural sugars, while ginger warms up your body with a spicy kick.

7. Post-Workout

The workout and fitness industry emphasizes pre-workout a lot, but post-workout is equally important. Juice as post-workout helps you recover faster after feeling exhausted, dehydrated, and sore.

@theallnaturalvegan’s watermelon muscle recovery juice recipe enhances blood circulation, reduces soreness, and ensures hydration. We recommend preparing it before your workout, so it's ready post-workout!

Post-Workout Juice Recipe

  • 1 watermelon
  • 2 cups of cherries
  • 1 pomegranate
  • 1 beet

This entire recipe consists of red ingredients. Red ingredients boost blood flow because they either contain nitrates, flavonoids like anthocyanins, or antioxidants like lycopene. Pomegranates and cherries contain anthocyanins, and watermelon contains lycopene. Both types protect the arteries and blood vessels from damage.

Watermelon is also 92% water and contains electrolytes, so it's a no-brainer ingredient for hydration.

8. The King's Elixir

This last men's health juice recipe is a recipe from @aisecoldfitness's Men's Health Juicing Series. This viral recipe, called "The King’s Elixir - Love Potion #8", has garnered millions of views on his Instagram.

It has many of the same ingredients as the previous recipes and addresses stamina, blood flow, and testosterone!

The King's Elixir Juice Recipe

  • 1 pomegranate
  • ½ watermelon
  • ½ lemon
  • 1 beet
  • 1 inch of ginger
  • 1 tsp cinnamon

On a final note, we want to emphasize the importance of men seeking medical care and taking preventive measures. Men are significantly less likely than women to seek medical help, leading to undiagnosed issues. Therefore, we encourage men to look after their health and regularly visit a healthcare professional.
